Introducing Parva; Ricky Wilson (vocals), Nick B (keyboards/guitar), Andrew White (guitar), Simon Rix (bass) and Nick H (drums/vocals).
New York(shire) band Parva are one of the most exciting British bands around at the moment. Hailing from Leeds, they ape no-one; they are their own band doing their own thing, making music that is as infectious as it is original in the process.
Having toured the UK pretty extensively over the last year (with the likes of The Libertines, The Catheters, The Rapture, Six By Seven and The French Kicks), they are fast getting themselves a glowing reputation for their frenetic live sets and insanely catchy songs.
Tipped by XFM, The Fly and Music Week as a band to watch in 2002, recent singles 'Heavy' and 'Good Bad Right Wrong' have strengthened these predictions, showing Parva to be a band already capable of writing a few anthems. That's just for starters. Wait until you hear their debut album, '22' (due out early 2003), it's pure dynamite!
Living increasingly in a world of five minute pop heroes, it's good to have bands like Parva cropping up. Everything we have heard and seen so far is refreshing evidence that they're going to be around for quite some time yet.
